Tanacetum parthenium is an attractive flower that thrives when planted in full sun and loamy soil. As part of the Asteraceae family, it is daisy-like in appearance and sometimes is confused with chamomile. Typically, the aerial portion is collected and used fresh or dried in teas and tinctures.

Feverfew is a smaller herb growing to no more than a foot in height and can often be found in open fields. It is bushy and characterized by its many tiny white flowers and dark green, toothy leaves. Feverfew produces blossoms from midsummer through fall, which can be collected at any time.

Seeds can be planted in fresh soil directly outside once the danger of frost has passed in early spring. Seedlings will emerge in a couple of weeks and should be consistently watered. Feverfew self-seeds very successfully, it is recommended to plant with caution in an area where you want it to return year after year.
