Use this gentle base to create your own custom shampoos. This semi-viscous shampoo base is fragrance-free and can mix with up to 2% essential oils. Simply stir an essential oil or fragrance blend directly into the base. No heating required. If you’re looking for a fragrance-free shampoo, this base is wonderful used on its own.

Mild and safe, this shampoo base has a balanced pH of 5.5 and is free of alcohol, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. It has a base of organic hydrosols for a cleansing experience that won’t strip hair. This base contains no harsh surfactants. Instead, its lather and sudsing power comes from sugar and glucose-derived surfactants, so you can get clean with confidence!

Please note that adding essential oil blends past the recommended 2% dilution rate can break the base. Additional additives such as oils, water, or butters may compromise the base’s composition. Store the shampoo base at or above 65°F. In colder temperatures, the base may become thick and cloudy.
